"Lying by my side" in Hedwig?

What's this song in Hedwig and the Angry Inch?
At one point in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, this song (first 20 seconds) plays in the background.
A female voice sings "you will be the one lying by my side, lying by my side, lying by my side." In the movie this accompanies the "Menses Fair," and the song does have a sorta Lilith Fair, Sarah McLachlan quality to it, though I can't identify the artist in particular. There's some crowd noise in the background, so maybe it's even from Lilith Fair.
So, what's the song? Anyone recognize it? Googling the lyrics has turned up nothing except people asking this question. Any help is appreciated!

Best answer: This sounds like Dar Williams
There's a song written by Stephen Trask and performed by Dar Willams listed on the soundtrack

Some songs by her. (and a cover with Ani Difranco)
I can't find my favorite of hers, which is called "In love but not at peace"...anyway.

Response by poster: Thanks so much! I idly thought that it sounded like Dar Williams, but I didn't recognize the lyrics at all.
Let me reorient the question. The song's not on the movie soundtrack available at amazon. Is there any more to the song than what's in the movie? Is it available anywhere in any form?

No proof of this, but I bet you anything it's Miriam Shor (who plays Hedwig's male lover in the movie) doing a little background riffing.

Yeah, I'm pretty positive this is a parody of Lilith Fair-style music.

Best answer: Hey, I wrote to Jon Cameron Mitchell about this, and he wrote back:
"Ha! It's a song fragment written/sung by Dar Williams for the scene. she's a friend of Trask..."
No word about where you can get the rest of it.

Or, now that I read it more closely, "fragment" sort of implies that there might not be more to it. Anyhow, I recommend asking Trask directly.

I can't believe, hermitosis, you relayed my question to John Cameron Mitchell himself! I'll contract Trask and see if he can help me at all.
