Product Releases

I am looking for a resource, preferably web based, that will give me release dates for new electronics and software. I have been able to find websites that give that information for Books, CD's and DVD's but nothing for software and electronics.

Response by poster: Oh, and I am not looking for Linux Releases a la freshmeat. I want commercial of the shelf software.

Apart from major products, I don't think electronics have release dates the way books and CDs do, they just sort of appear in shops when they're ready. The nearest you're going to get is the dates on Amazon.

Software release dates are, more or less, pure fiction. Some extremely popular and high-profile software titles will announce ship dates and in fact meet them, but generally it's a constantly-shifting landscape of fabricated estimation. GoneGold.com used to be pretty fair about tracking this stuff especially for games, but it has disappeared. ToTheGame seems to offer similar (game-oriented) services, but I have no idea of its quality.

There's no such thing as a "release date" for electronics. Stuff just ships when it's ready.
