Near Death Experiences - Suicides

For Research - Need Near Death Experiences accounts of people who attempted suicide.

I am looking for movies, articles, videos - anything that depicts first hand witness accounts of NDE's of suicide attempts. Any help much appreciated.

The Bridge is a documentary on jumpers from Golden Gate Bridge. You'll need a Hulu account to stream it.

Not to stay too focused on the Golden Gate Bridge, but there's also Jumpers by Tad Friend in the New Yorker.

“So I jumped.” But after he crossed the chord, he recalls, “My first thought was What the hell did I just do? I don’t want to die.”

Feel free to send me a MeFi Mail for a first-hand experience...25 years ago I attempted suicide in a very lethal fashion and somehow survived.

Response by poster: OK - The Bridge doesn't go into Near Death Experiences of the jumpers at all. It's really what the people who attempted suicide experienced in the after-life and what happened that made them return - and obviously what kind of life-changing experience it was for them. Those kind of stories is what I'm really interested in.

Johnn - will do.

So to be clear you are only interested in stories where people actually die, have some sort of supernatural experience, and make a choice based on that experience to come back to life? Because many survivors of suicide have the same sort of live-changing revelation from just surviving a suicide attempt and never attempt suicide again. As jorus said in many cases where the suicide attempt does not involve instantly losing consciousness, the person attempting suicide immediately regrets it and wants to survive.

Response by poster: Anyone who went from being suicidal to happy in their lives is amazing - burnmp3s. In the beyond this world messages that are relayed to a suicide in their NDE, is there a heavenly court? What are the decrees? Why be sent back? And ultimately what kind of changes do they make in their lives as well as the message for humanity is the intrigue.

Sorry if I wasted your time - my story doesn't include any afterlife experiences...just the near death part.

As I discovered, one of the benefits of attempting suicide via Ambien overdose is if you survive the experience you won't remember the experience!
