range of an advertisement

People outside of New England but in an area where Dunkin Donuts has TV advertisements-- does an ad for Dunkin Donuts featuring Johhny Damon and Red Sox GM Theo Epstein play in your area? It's obviously an expensive ad, but it seems very regional.

The other idea is that DD is getting their money's worth by playing it in New England every 30 seconds. I think about throwing shit at the TV because I'm so sick of it.

i haven't seen it here in NYC.

(ot: but adwise, there's a perfect Speed Racer Geico ad running)

I obviously haven't seen it, Mayor -- does Johnny multiply the bear claws to feed a multitude of hungry fans?

does Johnny multiply the bear claws to feed a multitude of hungry fans?

The gist of it is that Damon is actually quite bald and the long hair is a wig. Epstein catches Damon tending to the wig on a styrofoam head and then Damon bribes him with fancy Dunkin Donuts coffee to keep the secret.

It's funny the first time you see it. But not after about the third viewing.

The one with Schilling practicing the Bahston accent was also regional.

Expensive? Sure, but when you have a franchise location every three blocks, it spreads out nicely. Profit margin in coffee is enormous.

You can also pay people less simply because it is a regional ad.

Dunkin' Donuts is actually pretty regional -- we certainly don't have them down here in the midwest like they are up east. There is maybe one every 20-30 miles or so.

Not in Philly. We're getting the ad with the guy walking down the street with the mannequins.

I don't think a commercial featuring Theo Epstein would really work outside of NE? I think everyone knows Johnny Damon by now, but Theo Epstein is hardly recognizable outside of Red Sox Nation.

we have the mannequin ads too, and they're creepy. (altho not as creepy as the Burger King king)

Johnny Damon's also in a cell-phone ad (Cingular or Sprint?) that's playing out here (Northern California). But that may also just be on cable -- I haven't paid enough attention to know if it's running on the networks, too.
