I'm looking for a DVD recorder to transfer mostly home movies and Tivo-captured content to DVD.

I've had a Philips DVDR 615 for about a year and it works great for me. The remote seems a little bit sluggish but I don't really use the remote too much.

In fact, I'm using it right now to back up some Tivo shows to take with me on the road this weekend.

I have one of these and I love it:
Philips DVDR75 Progressive-Scan DVD Player/Recorder

It will do everything you mentioned above and it's also great for recording TV straight to DVD if you want to skip the Tivo altogether.

It was $375 when I bought it a year and a half ago, but there are still some available out there on the web for much less.
