Flight attendant sleeping nook?

On a recent flight, I noticed flight attendants entering what I thought was a bathroom, but once I caught a glimpse of a very steep stairway--almost a ladder--that must go up to some sort of sleeping loft. I think the plane was a 777, but it could've been something else. I am intrigued (and jealous). Does anyone know what this loft looks like? Anyone ever been in one? Pics would be great.

Best answer: It's called the "upper deck crewrest" on the 777: pics.

This video has a picture of the pilots' rest facility - the place they go for a nap after takeoff.(*) The video pauses lovingly over the "max capacity 1" sign next to the bunk, although a commentator points out that the sign on the shower says "max capacity 2".

(*) Not really.

So long as they don't use it before take-off ...

I think during would be the most problematic.

That's awesome, I had no idea. I will be incredibly jealous on my next flight.

Best answer: There seem to be some good cutaway diagrams here.
