What do you plan to use this laptop for?

Do you want a laptop that is cosmetically similar to a Macbook Pro, or one that has roughly the same specs?

We've had similar questions here previously. The most obvious advice is just to buy a Macbook Pro and install Windows on it. Bootcamp will provide you with all the drivers you need.

Look at HP's EliteBook line of "mobile workstations."

I researched this a few weeks back, and a high-end Lenovo seems to have a better screen (higher DPI) than a mac. I didn't look at matte options, though.

Lenovo ThinkPads have a matte option. At least the W510 series does.

You can find 17" laptops with similar specs to the Macbook Pro for less money what Apple is charging, although you'll lose out on things like the new Thunderbolt interface and those shiny new Sandybridge Intel processors they're using. (Unless other people have started including them, which I'm sure they probably have by now.) But generally speaking, it shouldn't be too hard to find a similarly-specced laptop, and probably for less money.

The trackpad is where things get trickier, since I don't know of any other laptop manufacturer that uses the same kind of trackpad as Apple. I happen to think they're the best out there, both in terms of size and in how responsive they are with multi-touch gestures. You said you wanted a 'decent' trackpad, so I guess anything even approaching that level will work okay, but in my opinion at least you probably won't find anything quite as good.

If you're just looking for something cosmetically similar to a Macbook Pro, then have a look at some of HPs higher-end laptops. I know some of their early 'Envy' series laptops were very obviously based on the Macbook Pro, although I'm not sure if they still make the ones I'm thinking of.
