Camping Around Mt. Shasta

Has anyone carcamped along Interstate 5 in the Mt. Shasta/Castle Crag area?

We are going through there and want to stay the night in a tent before proceeding south in I-5. I was wondering about people's experiences with desirable places, or undesirable places to camp.

Ditto. Castle Lake is gorgeous. Got get myself back up there again soon.

If you don't mind going as far south as Redding, Whiskeytown Lake is quite nice.
