My Timex Marathon stopwatch won't stop beeping.
I've gone through all the settings and tried to reset -- nothing seems to work. Please help before my brain explodes!

Response by poster: I don't think so -- it's relatively new. I could disassemble it and see if that does anything, but I'm wondering if there's an easier alternative.

Can you reset it by removing the battery and then putting it back in?

Best answer: I have an Iron-man Triathlon, but I imagine they are related .
I would suggest using the warranty if you can send it to Times - as changing the batter normally reduces the waterproof seal.
For a non-invasive"can't hurt to try" ploy - press all buttons at once and this might reset the firmware . How one person presses all buttons at once is beyond me - and I just read that on google and don't want to try it.
In my three attempts to change batteries - only one of mine remained waterproof - the other two went to Timex for a small fee (less then $10) and I got a new watch .
If you change the battery you may need to short the battery : Open the back of the watch and, using a screwdriver or piece of wire, briefly short the exposed part of the battery to other metal.
If the battery clamp indicates you should do so, quickly press the reset button twice. Then reattach the back of the watch. If the watch display remains off after replacing the battery, press all buttons at the same time to reset the display.
