Where are the cute children's swimsuits?

Where can I find cute swimsuits (swim trunks 4t, tankini girls 8) for my nephew and niece? I've looked at all the regular stores (Target, Macy's, Old Navy, Gap Kids, etc) and even on line a bit, but I can't find anything fun. Especially for the boy trunks, they are all very bland. Is there a children's store I don't know about since I don't have kids?

I know I'm not giving a ton of information, but I'm looking for something more unusual than blue plaid or cutsy-boy prints for my nephew and something less main stream for my niece. I'd like them to stand out a little at the beach as being cool city kids. Is that possible in swimsuits?

Depending on where you are located, a local surf shop would be a good option. Avoid the Billabong Company stores (and other brand stores) and try to find a local shop - they'll carry more variety if it's a decent shop.

Hanna Andersson has some really cute stuff (IMO) and they're having a sale right now.

The Children's Place might be worth looking at.

I have good luck at Children's Place. Though for a toddler boy.

I think Land's End has cute swimsuits, at least for girls, and you can mix-and-match tankini tops and bottoms.

There is only one cool manufacturer of men's (and boy's) trunks, and that is Birdwells. Their online store is a mess, but it's worth emailing them to see if they've got any kids' sizes in stock.

I buy suits from Swim Outlet

Their prices are good, and they have a good selection. They ship pretty fast too.

I don't know about suits for girls, but I bought my nephews some "Beach Boys" retro Hawaii kinda board shorts from L. L. Bean last summer...

We have a Polarn O. Pyret stripey two-piece to look cool. But, Lands' End...yeah, the niece at least wants a Lands' End swimsuit; we like the beach and pools and I have bought piles of little girls' swimsuits and the others are crappy in comparison. Lands' End reliably uses a thicker fabric and more comfortable cuts that cover what they're supposed to cover and don't wedgie up. I would funk it up with a cool cover-up before risking a fashionable suit on a kid, given the hassles with quality.

Best answer: I can't help with the girl's suit, but I buy my son's swimwear at Boden and I've been very, very pleased with them.

I was going to suggest Boden too...here is a link directly to the boys swimwear. It's not cheap and shipping took forever the one time I've ordered from them but I love their designs for both kids and adults. Also, there is free shipping both ways so you don't have to worry about returning things if they don't fit.

Gymboree has suits in stores now and they're also having a 30% off sale right now.

Not sure where you're located, but some H&M stores (especially the flagship stores in each city) have children's lines. Unfortunately you can't buy from them online but you might want to check with the stores near you. Imagine hip clothes but tiny.

MiniBoden has the cutest kids clothes. There are some great great swimsuits. I bought a couple for my little boy. The fabric is stiffer than I'd like. But I guess that means they'll hold up well.
