Advice about biking the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica

Looking for advice about biking the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, specifically, the best places to rent bikes, and best coastal routes.

The SO and I are planning a 10 day or so bike trip to Costa Rica in early April. Having done some research the West coast of the Nicoya Peninsula seems beautiful, not overly touristy, and quite bike friendly.

The current plan is to fly into somewhere nearby, probably Liberia, and then bus down to the peninsula where we would rent bikes and begin our tour. I've heard that the coastal road south of Sámara is really nice, so we'd probably try and take the bus there and continue by bike.

So, does this make sense? Recommendations for good places to get bikes, better routes, places to stay and things to see are all welcome.

Thanks in advance!

I can't help with the bikes, but I think a better (faster) route would be to fly into SJO and then fly over to Tambor (about 30 minutes).

For accomodation in Montezuma, I like Ylang-Ylang. I've stayed there multiple times.
