How come I can use my ipod classic with an A1256 Apple Universal Dock to play video with audio (iTunes movies) on my stereo tv, but i cant do the same with audio-only (iTunes podcasts)?

After reading the instruction manuals on the Apple website, it seems to imply that you need to use the line out port for music (and audio podcasts). You can use an audio cable with a standard 3.5 millimeter stereo miniplug. The dock connector port is used to view photos or videos on a TV or other video device (with iPhone and with iPod models that support video). If you have photos on your iPod Classic, you can choose the music (audio podcast?) to play during a slideshow on your TV.
