Where does this laptop connector go?

The screen of a friend's HP Pavilion DV1000 no longer turns on after he dropped it. My dad is currently having a look at the laptop to see if he can fix it but upon reassembling it he has found a loose 3 pin connector that he can find no obvious place for. I have taken a photo of it and indicated whereabouts on the laptop it is located. Anyone got any ideas?

It may connect to the power switch panel.

Best answer: The display cable is next to that cable. see the black pull tape?

Kinda looks like the 3 wire fan cable from 5-49 of the manual.

Might be nothing. some laptops have unused cables to support options in other models - cameras or card readers for instance. I'd trace it back to see what its connected to just to be sure.

Response by poster: Thanks for the responses. I think aso's suggestion that it is a redundant cable is likely correct.
