My mother cannot remember the name of a movie. It involves a mother and son and a flight of steps.
From what she remembers, in the movie, a mother and son live together. At a young age, the son kills somebody and the mother hides him under a flight of steps inside their house so that he is hidden from the police. Years later, his mother dies and he continues to live in the room the steps and watches through peepholes as new people move into the house. Any idea what movie this is?

Response by poster: She's not sure, SPrintF. Was Bad Ronald a made-for-TV movie? She claims whatever the film was had been a made-for-TV movie.

It was an ABC "Movie of the Week," if I recall correctly.
