What's odd about America?
Question for non-American MetaFilterians: what things do you find strange about American culture? I'm asking about more specific things, rather than vague statements like, say, "they think they know everything".
The inspiration was reading a Guardian story where the writer pointed out that the Arizona assassin's middle name is always printed, and that Americans tend to use middle names a lot more than Brits I guess.
