Name that comedian

Name that comedian. One portion of his act was about career day at his kid's elementary school. The only thing he said that I can quote is: "Smokey the bear is a close personal friend of mine".

Maybe Fire Marshall Bill, as played by Jim Carrey, on "In Living Color"?

The late, great Mitch Hedberg, maybe? If he followed it by describing Smokey's equivalent in the UK (Slappy the Frog) then for sure it was him.

Response by poster: It's a stand-up comedian, bigger guy...but his own weight is not part of his routine.

My friend thinks that this may be Zach Galifianakis, from his show on VH1, where he did his stand up routine for a bunch of kids. Try this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7ywNaGpqZw&feature=player_embedded

The Smokey the Bear joke isn't in that clip, but he said it sounded familiar.

Response by poster: It might be the same guy who talks about prank calling his mother about a delivery of soap: soft like butter.

I just want to say that this is driving me absolutely insane. I remember this exactly, but cannot suss out who it was. Louie CK is a possibility.

I think it was on the daily show. Don't remember if it was John Stewart or his guest though.

Response by poster: He may have also talked about popping into an internet chat group and saying, :"I like/love puddin."'

He tries top get his father to say "I'm a pretty girl".

Its not Jeff Garlin is it?

"When he visits his friend's daughter's elementary school for Career Day, he rambles about his problems, boring the kids, and embarrassing himself in front of the teacher"
