What did I miss this year?

After being out of the country for a good portion of the year, as well as being out of the loop for an even larger portion, I feel like I've missed a good amount of interesting stuff. So, what were your favorite books, movies, and music of this past year? Tell me why! What did you love about them and why did they stick with you? Everything from the obvious to the obscure is welcome.

Toy Story 3 was amazing -- it played less like the usual "heroes wander far from home and have a fun adventure" and more like a terrifying prison film. The Social Network was also very good -- David Fincher has this incredible ability to take rather mundane-sounding plots (in this case, "some dudes start a website") and turn them into very engaging films.

The return of Superchunk is great, but you probably had to be into them in the first place. You have about 6 hours to download a great free album by Monahans.
