methadone is to heroin as __________ is to Trader Joe's Candy Cane Green Tea

My S.O. and I have developed a deep and abiding love (some might call it an addiction) for Trader Joe's Candy Cane Green Tea. Unfortunately, the tea has gone into hibernation until next year. What to do?

What would you recommend as an analogue for Trader Joe's Candy Cane Green Tea. The only other tea I've seen recommended is Celestial Seasoning's Candy Cane Lane.

I don't think normal peppermint green tea would quite cut it, since it doesn't quite taste like a candy cane.

From the link you used:

"Shinobicha"

This is the same exact tea as Candy Cane Lane by Celestial Seasoningsā€¦ it has just been white labeled for TJs. :-)

Sounds like it'd be worth a shot, even if you can't always believe the internets.

Response by poster: Debaser626: we'll definitely be trying the Candy Cane Lane, but just wanted to see if there were any other suggestions.

room317: hehe, I saw the ebay link. I like the tea, but not enough to spend $4+/box plus shipping.

It's here in D.C. if you know anyone who could mail it to you.

I myself stockpile Celestial Seasonings holiday teas! It's a good thing, too, because I have not seen any this year.

But the 25th & Penn. TJ's does not have Candy Cane Joe-Joe's or Peppermint Pretzel Slims!

Celestial Seasonings is here in Boulder. From what they say, and from what I've seen on their tours, they do not whitelabel. But hopefully would be a good substitute!

baxter_ilion, I'll check tonight if they are still in Manhattan.

Candy Cane Green Tea is also still around in northern New Jersey; I saw it mere hours ago. I say you should put the word out to your friends in different areas and ask them to grab you some if their local TJs still have them.

MerryMint tea from Stash (who also make teas for T.J.'s) might be a good replacement, except it's not decaf. Available direct from Stash!

Response by poster: Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll check in with some friends/family around the country to see if there is any left in the TJs where they are.

I will also see if I can track down some Celestial Seasonings or Stash MerryMint tea.

Thanks!
