Help me find public domain pictures, videos, animations of disease states and other biological topics

I do a lot of writing on medical topics and sometimes need to find images (pictures of a disease, diagnostic technique, or biological process).

I just found this, which is a treasure trove of public domain pictures (some, not all). These are great pictures and usually show the disease state. I also like that they can be downloaded in jpg form.

So I thought that I would probe the hive mind: Do you know of any other public domain available pictures ,illustrations, animations, or videos that are also high quality (accurate) that show disease states (in particular cancer) and/or the biological sciences (maybe if I have down time there will be other pictures)? Actually anatomy would be very useful, too.

If there are ones that you can contribute to also –it would also be helpful (a colleague and I want to try illustrations, and if we find a useful reservoir of info and they give credit, maybe we will create and drop something in, too).

This question is a long shot, but maybe someone has seen a useful site.

Thanks

Best answer: The CDC has the Public Health Image Library: http://phil.cdc.gov/Phil/home.asp

Most of the images are public domain and those that are copyrighted are clearly labeled as such.

Best answer: Wellcome Images - "one of the world's richest and most unique collections, with themes ranging from medical and social history to contemporary healthcare and biomedical science."
National Museum of Health and Medicine's flickr stream
BioMed image search - for finding images in the research literature

A list of other sources from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
