Information Processing in Neurons

What properties, e.g. anatomical, electrical, etc., of neurons enable them to process information locally (within a portion of a dendritic tree) as well as globally (by decision making at the axon hillock)? For each of the properties that you mention, explain how they can be incorporated into a realistic model of the neuron.

How they can these properties be incorporated into a realistic model of the neuron?

Neurobiology take-home exam, eh? You have notes from class(I hope) and a book. Good luck!
