web-based want lists

What web-based services for tracking want lists (or really arbitrary lists of things, though I'd probably use it most for books and bands) are there? I don't want something tied to a particular vendor. Simplicity and ease of use are paramount.

It sounds as though there are quite a few from which to choose. There has been some level of discussion on these in the past, which may offer guidance.
