Diversification is as good in energy sources as it is in investment portfolios.

"Diversification is as good in energy sources as it is in investment portfolios. Not only do we not need a silver bullet, we wouldn't even want one if we had it. We want 10 (or 20 or 50) plain old lead bullets."

My friend and I have had conversations in the past about diversifying energy sources as a better solution then a silver bullet solution. I could of sworn I read something about it in a popular magazine. I thought I remember Larry Page of google discussing the topic too.

Any links on the topic of diversifying energy sources as a solution to our current energy problem would be appreciated.

Best answer: Stewart Brand writes about this, in part, in his most recent book.

David MacKay's book, Sustainable Energy - without the hot air, should be required reading for everyone. It's also free, if you don't mind reading pdf/html.
