Question: What are your Activity Suggestions for the day of a wedding?

I'm getting married in October and having a 6 p.m. wedding and i am trying to think of activites for the groomsmen during the day leading up to the wedding. What could we do that day that would be fun, lighthearted, and entertaining for the groomsmen and other men involved in the wedding?

We don't play golf and can't do anything that requires to much time. I was going to get some BBQ for everyone from a great local jointfor lunch, but i am at a loss for other activites. One friend of mine hired a masseur for the groomsmen on the day of his wedding which was nice, but i don't want to copy that idea, since he's one of the groomsmen. We'll be at my house before we get dressed for the wedding.

I took all my groomsmen out for barbershop shaves beforehand. It went over pretty well since many (myself included) had never had one.

Y'know - Laser Tag might be fun if you have a facility nearby. Another option might be a session at a local LAN gaming place.

Go Kart racing is a blast and can be done in a couple hours.

Don't know if you guys are drinkers, but arranging for a high-end scotch or tequila tasting is quite enjoyable. You can, in fact, do this without getting drunk.

Trying to make up for my earlier boneheaded post. :)

Kind of random, but what about doing an improv comedy mini-workshop? There are a couple of comedy clubs in my city that do this, and if you could find one I'm sure they would tailor it to fit the time you have and your location. It might help get everyone relaxed and in a positive frame of mind.

If you are in a oceanside beach locale, do a half day fishing excursion. It's kinda pricey, but well worth it. Especially if one of you guys catches a fish.
We did this in Key West this past December. Two of us caught a fish and the caterers even cooked them up for the reception later on that night. Yummie!

Clay pigeon shooting at a gun range? That sounds like a lot of fun to me. Also, Go Karts is a really good suggestion.

How about a private party at Hooters? Or something a little more 'adult'?

Another idea.

I don't know where you live, but here in Chicago, you can rent a trolley and give the driver a route to follow. The manager of my work team rented one and we were whisked from one activity to another all over the city. Breakfast at a really great historical place, a few innings of a Cub's game, a game of Whirley Ball, a quick drink at a pub, we went all over. Very fun! Very memorable.

Highropes course? Rock climbing (indoor or outdoor)? Some kind of class? (Fencing... drumming... paintball... sailing... canoeing... wine tasting?)

Croquet, horseshoes, poker, videogame tourney, bowling, lasertag. (Avoid paintball, as you will be all bruised!) You might be able to rent some old school arcade games or pinball. That would be fun to do at home.

I spent a day recently with a bunch of other adults having a ridiculously fun time flying kites. If the weather is somewhat dependably windy (and not wet) where you are, it could be fun to go fly some exotic kites that will also serve as keepsakes for the groomsmen afterwards. It's also a nice, fresh-air exercise that won't tire them out for the festivities later.

Or, more in line with the massage concept, make arrangements for a couple of hours for the group at an upscale hotel or gym that offers sauna, whirlpool, steam bath, etc.

A friend of mine was recently the best man for his best friend's wedding, and some of his pictures were of the groom getting his nails done and his eyebrows waxed. Spa stuff could be fun, if the guys would be up for it.
