Title of a documentary regarding Japanese appropriation of Western stuff

Looking for the title of an obscure documentary about the Japanese adaptations of Western products and traditions as they have been commodified in japan.
I watched this documentary as part of a U.S. representations of Japan class in college. It isn't that recent, I imagine maybe early 90s or so. I also seem to remember that it was made by two directors primarily. I remember a scene with a toilet paper roll that talked, and a wedding with a fake wedding cake. Beyond that, I don't think I can be much help. The teacher was Professor Gregory Waller, who I would e-mail personally, but I thought I'd post it here for both reference and posterity.
