How are vampires like teeth?

I was asked the answer to a riddle tonight, which nobody could figure out the answer to. "How are vampires like teeth"? Has anyone heard this or know what the answer could be?

Could it have been a mis-spoken version of this one?:

Q: How are vampires like false teeth?
A: They all come out at night.

Vampires are like false teeth because they all come out at night.

Response by poster: We thought that as well, but that isn't the answer, sadly.

They're gross in the morning?

Some kind of steak/stake or coughin'/coffin pun?

Something about bloody steaks /stakes maybe.

They are both pale white and sparkle in the sunlight? (This presumes we're talking about modern Mormon vampires)

Or something about bat breath?

Is that the exact wording of the riddle, "How are vampires like teeth?" and not, say, "What do vampires and teeth have in common," or "How is a vampire like a tooth"? Sometimes these riddles/jokes depend on very specific words or phrases being used.

You've marked it as best answer, but answered they didn't have it right. So is this solved for you, or not?

What is the difference between vampires and teeth?
You use your teeth to pierce a steak through the heart.

Just made this one up. How's that? No?

If that's the right setup, then the answer is "they bite". Probably a riddle for kids? Or told by a grandpa kind of character?

If that's the right setup, then the answer is "they bite".

But vampires bite with their teeth, so I don't think that works.

I'm thinking it has to be something about stakes, like "They're both defeated by a tough steak/stake". A little rough but close enough.
