Anyone know treatments for wall plaster?

I need some ideas for a finish for a semi-rough interior wall plaster made from sand, portland cement, and masonry cement. It's pretty beautiful already...

I like the gradations of the plaster, but I am thinking of doing a color wash where the dark/light areas will still show. I can also imagine a "wax" finish over it like venetian plaster, but not exactly. This is a desert house, so it needs to be kind of that feeling.

Why, if it's already beautiful, are you wanting to gild the lily?

leave it, but add some wall-hangings. we have a nice, red/asbtract wall hanging/rug we bough in oaxaca. something like that. i hang them by screwing steel woodscrews into the wall (using a drill and plug) and then seing from the rug to the screw. so you can see the screw, which looks fine, especially on a semi-rough wall. just spray it with insect repellant first.

Look at the architecture of Luis Barragan.
