Get Me Developed

Good Old School photo developing in Hampshire?
Can anyone recommend a place, preferably in Southampton, where I can get a few ordinary (as they used to be) 35mm slide films developed (and CDs made) with reasonable results?
I don't know about those people at Portswood Road, for example. I seem unable to communicate my orders to the utterly non-photographic and non-English staff. There must be someone else somewhere...
Also, (no doubt because of the declining demand) there seems to be a new tendency that chemicals are not kept fresh any more, nor clean, and I had a few unpleasant under-developed and dirty surprises which I'd like to avoid.

Response by poster: Ah. This was apparently difficult to answer in specific terms. Yes, thanks, I will check out that site.
