Optimzed Wordpress hosting for a medium-sized blog?

I'm working on blogger blog getting around 20-30K page loads a month (around 1100 a day). I'm porting the blog into WordPress and am looking for current hosts that are optimized for that piece of software and those numbers of visitors. Suggestions?

That's not a lot of traffic, I'd say you'll be fine with Bluehost or Dreamhost. I'd consider the WP Super Cache plugin for performance reasons, more info here.

Best answer: that's not traffic that needs worrying about, so i second that you'd be fine with dreamhost or bluehost, and wp super cache just in case you get a one-time traffic spike from reddit or daring fireball or whatever.

I love Dreamhost, and they have WordPress as a one-click install. Bluehost might have that, too, but I'm a big fan of Dreamhost.

Nthing that Dreamhost and Bluehost can handle the traffic, that WP Super Cache is a must for any site, but throwing Lunarpages into the mix because they've given me the least amount of problems over the years when compared to the other two suggestions.

The process of "optimizing" WordPress doesn't involve host selection, really. If you're looking for a host that's going to give you enough hardware to solve the problem, go with an established name, and slap a cache plugin on it.

If you're actually looking to optimize wordpress itself, open your checkbook and start looking for really capable PHP coders. Like this guy.

I use Hostgator, which I found seems to be popular with many savvy WP users.

Hostgator has a good reputation for support, and lots of info online as well.

They have easy install of Wordpress, and with WP Super Cache already included by default.
