Meaning of Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work"? March 25, 2005 4:59 PMSubscribe
Does anyone know what the song "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush is about? posted by Muffpub to media & arts (2 answers total)
See what Kate says herself about it. If you've seen She's Having a Baby, you'll recall that the song is featured near the end of the film, and it turns out she wrote it expressly at John Hughes' request.
Aside from the first verse, though, I think the lyrics are written broadly enough convey the pain and regret of missed chance and lost love. Without that connection, I always assumed it was about the devestating end of a relationship, and I still think it's a fair reading. posted by melissa may at 5:34 PM on March 25, 2005
Thanks, melissa. I've been looking everywhere for that but couldn't find it. posted by Muffpub at 10:26 AM on March 26, 2005
