Your recommendations for affordable self storage in Brooklyn or (VERY near to NYC) New Jersey?

My sublet fell through so I'm crashing on a friend's couch for a bit and need to put my stuff in storage—would rather not use Manhattan Mini Storage as they're kind of $$$ and have had problems with them in the past. Anonymous because I don't want everyone to know where my stuff ends up!

Queens is actually the place to go for cheap self storage close to the city. I have a space at one of the Public Storage facilities on Northern Blvd. It was the cheapest I could find. Pretty easy to get to on public transport.

Hi. I moonlight as a mover in New York City and Brooklyn. I just moved someone into Public Storage on Gold St. in Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago, and they are running a special where your first month's rent on a storage space is $1.00. Now, I don't know if there are a minimum number of months that you need to keep the space - that's something you should look into. But you can't beat the price.

Try Tuck-It-Away on Jay Street in Brooklyn. I pay around $30/mo. for a 5x5x10 room.
