I really just need place to sleep at night and keep my luggage, nothing fancy; I'd like a private room, though, not a hostel or other group arrangement. Anyone been there and have some advice or suggestions? <br /><br /> I've looked at a place called Quinta d'Liz, and it looks like what I want. The catch is that the guy who runs the place wants me to send him half of the money via Western Union ahead of time; I have no problem with this except that I can't verify much about the guy. I'm asking because if it's anything but a small village, there will most likely be several cheap, clean, fairly quiet hotels near the center of town. Or near the beach if it's a resort.<br> <br> Some guy wants you to wire him half the money in advance? Did he give a reason? Is there a convention that week? A big fiesta that fills the hotels? High tourist season? If any of those are the the case, and if there are few hotels besides his, I'd consider wiring the advance.
