How do I play 4TB of music on separate hard drives on iTunes?

I have about 4TB of music on 4 separate hard drives. None of this music is currently imported into iTunes. I'd like to keep it on the hard drives -- and be able to access any of the hard drives through iTunes [i.e. the music from all 4 hard drives would appear in my music library but remain on their original hard drive.] What's the best way to do this?

There are a pair of settings you want to disable in iTunes, under the Advanced tab. Uncheck both "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library". Then go to File->Add [Folder] To Library and select a disk at a time to import.

You might check out PowerTunes to see if it can do what you need.
