Where can I find cute plastic toy monsters near a BART in the Bay Area?

I'm looking for a shop within a mile of an East Bay or SF BART station that has a wide variety of inexpensive cute plastic monster toys.

My friend has hit a very stressful time in his PhD program (SCIENCE! MATH! LASERS!) and I would like to send him a team of assistants. I'm thinking 7 or 8 figures for no more than $30. Cheapity-cheap is fine, but they must be cute and make him smile.

I live in Oakland and use BART and buses to get around - and I'm hoping to go shopping today.

Thanks!

Best answer: Games of Berkeley is right across the street from the Downtown Berkeley BART station and has exactly what you're looking for. Great idea, btw.

If they don't have what you want there, Dr. Comics and Mr.Games is just under a mile from MacArthur BART.

This doesn't fit your criteria - it's not really near BART (in Emeryville) and some of the toys can be collectible and more expensive, but for future Google travelers, if you really need cool robots or monsters, Kimono My House is awesome.

I don't remember the store that well -- walked in once, didn't buy anything -- but It's Your Move Games in Temescal (Telegraph near 49th) might also be worth checking out.
