Experience Des Moines for lovers

I want to get a wedding gift for a friend in the Clive/Des Moines, IA area. I'd love to give her and her new hubby an experience present (gift certificate to a restaurant or for a couples massage or for theater, etc.) of around $150.00. I don't live in Iowa and have never been there. What recommendations do you have for romantic restaurants, relaxing spas and wellness centers, innovative cultural institutions, quality theater? Other experience ideas appreciated.

I don't live in the area, but you could try looking on yelp or even google for reviews from locals. Anything with a high score and lots of reviews is probably a safe bet!

My husband and I had a really lovely, very tasty dinner at Django, in the Hotel Fort Des Moines, when we were there for a wedding last year. Surprisingly good cocktails, too.

My wife and I have really like staying at the Butler House on Grand http://www.butlerhouseongrand.com/ It is right across from the Des Moines Art Center, and it is a really neat old mansion. Your friends could then decide to go out to eat somewhere or lounge around at their leisure. Great breakfast too.
