The perfect laptop (under £400) for my student sister.
I realise that this is a general question but after owning Mac's for several years I'm out of the loop when it comes to non-mac laptops.
My sister is going back to university and needs a general use laptop (general web browsing, iTunes and of course MS Office). Screen size should be no more than 15" (though not too small) and portable enough for her to travel without breaking her back.
Price is the big issue and she can spend no more than £400 at most.
Specific Makes and models would be nice and UK deals for students would be good too.

I'm a student and just bought an Acer 1410t for US$310. It is netbook-sized but quite a bit faster than a standard netbook. That leaves her some extra money to spend on an external monitor and keyboard, which I really recommend for extended work on tiny laptops.
