Graduate school grants for international students?

Anyone know of any graduate-level (PhD candidate) grants available to a Chinese girl studying Biology in the US?

My girlfriend is at Columbia getting a PhD in molecular bio, and I'm trying to help her find some external funding to supplement what the school gives her. As far as I can tell, there are very few grants that allow international students to apply, and even fewer that are granted to grad students (as opposed to postdocs.)

That said, I know the world of scholarships and grants has lots of tiny nooks and crannies. Any info much appreciated!

My university has a "Grad Grants Center", which helps graduate students find and write grants. Perhaps Columbia has something similar.
