So, the Office Season 2 episode 1 opens up with a little impromptu song performance. What song and what is it from?

It goes a bit like this: badabadump. duh dah duh duh-duh. badabadump. duh duh dah duh badabadump. duh dah duh duh-duh, duh duh-duh, duh duh-duh duh duh duh duh duh-duh duh. And repeats. I heard rumours that it was from the Muppets show, but damned if I can google noise.

They played it on 'top 40' radio in 1969, years before the Muppet Show. Another pop tune from the same period also had porno-film origins, much more obviously: "J'taime" [which I think was first heard in "I Am Curious (Yellow)"].
