iCal event templates

How can I create event templates in iCal?

Ideally I would like to type in an event name in iCal (eg "Day shift") and have it automatically pull in the details that I preset for that event (7am-3pm), but anything similarly simple would suffice. Any help is much appreciated.

You can duplicate events easily in iCal. I would create your templates as single occurrence events in a specific month, say January - then just duplicate them whenever you need them.

You could also build something in Automator. This old hint gives you a good sense of how you might do that.
