Looking for a specific NYC street artist

I'm looking for a specific street artist / vendor I saw in Union Square Park in NYC 2 or 3 months ago.

The guy I'm looking for was selling metal signs, most of them were parodies of advertisements from the 50's and 60's, but he also had some that had artwork from old DC comics on them. Specifically, I'm interested in the Batman one. Does anyone know where else I can find this guy? Should I just keep checking back at the park hoping I'll see him? I'm afraid that with the new restrictions on vendors in Union Square that the chances of finding him here again are pretty small

I think I saw a guy similar to this guy in SoHo this past Friday afternoon. The sign that stuck out to me was one with a smiling woman holding a cup of coffee, with a caption to the effect of, "Coffee helps me do tons of stupid shit."

I've got a relatively high probability of ending up in SoHo again on Friday, so if I spot him again, I'll look out for a Batman sign.

I have a friend who is in Union Square almost every day selling her art and is friends with many of the artists there. I've sent her a message asking if she knows who this is and I'll let you know if I get any info.

Best answer: I've seen the same guy - or someone else selling ths same stuff - outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art a bunch of times.

Response by poster: Awesome, thanks for the info guys. jangie - do you remember where in SoHo he was? Jared - that'd be a huge help, thanks! Aversion Therapy - I'll take a look around there as well. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more than one person selling this stuff, so tracking it down might not be as hard as I thought at first

Best answer: If all else fails, here's a website that sells tin signs. The page I linked has a number of Batman-themed signs.

Best answer: @Venadium, it was around Broadway and Spring or so.

Best answer: Venadium, my friend said that his name is Al and that he still shows up there, so you should keep checking back. She also mentioned that he has Alzheimer's so she's never quite sure when he'll show up. If you'd like, you can MeMail me and I can put you in touch with her...maybe she can give you a heads up when he comes around.
