Yahoo push email on iphone4

I newly purchased an iPhone4 on Vodafone in the UK. Gmail email seems to work beautifully, in a "push" fashion. Yahoo email ( a non paid account on yahoo.com) just does not seem to do it in "push" fashion. Email is erratic. This is despite resetting "all settings" and re installing account. Any solutions guys? Does anyone know the yahoo IMAP settings, as I am told that solves the problem? Thanks

I think you need to upgrade to the paid Yahoo Mail plan to get IMAP.

When you say "does not seem to do it in 'push' fashion," are you saying that it does it in FETCH mode (i.e. you get emails every 5-15 minutes, rather than when they are actually delivered)? Because that is how I experience Gmail -- I don't think it's always possible to get a pure PUSH with those e-mail providers.

The gmail works in "pure push" fashion. No fetch at all. So when one presses the send button TO my gmail account, the iPhone receives it and displays it few seconds (less than 5) later. With Yahoo it is very erratic and certainly not true push. Some people seem to manage "proper" push on yahoo though....
