Must Compete for Best Flamingo Outfit or Hang Head in Shame

Seattle area filter: So, we have these dear friends who throw a flamingo themed party every year. I don't have much bright pink and green in my wardrobe, and no flamingo accessories like earrings and shoes either. (I DO own a pink feather boa.) Any ideas on where to shop this weekend in Seattle area for flamingo stuff?

You live in Seattle? Definitely Archie McPhee.

Response by poster: Really, zombiedance? I don't see anything but a lawn flamingo on the site.

Best answer: Archie McPhee tends to have more weird stuff in the real store than is in their catalog, but it's still a bit of a crapshoot.
Definitely try Display & Costume up on Roosevelt, they have all sorts of bizarre things.

Best answer: Maybe give Pretty Parlor a call? I can't see much on their website, but vinatage pink sure seems to be a theme.

Why not dress up like Divine. You don't need the exact dress, just the wild makeup and hair.

Best answer: The Zoo. They have a flamingo exhibit, and ten tons of flamingo crap to support it with.

I say this as an avid and fanatic member of the zoo, mind you. But I also say this as a woman with a three year old daughter who has more flamingo-related articles than is strictly necessary to survive.

Best answer: Try Champion Party Supply down on Denny near the Seattle Center.

nthing Champion, Archie's, and go into a couple of stores on Capitol Hill and ask them for help.

Unhealthy flamingos tend to be very pale pink or white. Baby flamingos are grey. Dress in white and carry a box of kleenex- you're a flamingo with a cold. Or dress in grey and carry a bottle.

Response by poster: I'll never win Best Flamingo Costume contest at the party that way, gally99!! (Might not even gain admission.) Must be a flamboyant, pink and green flamingo themed person to win.

Ahh, I missed the headline and the competition part.
Still, I think there's something to be said for doing things in a different and perhaps goofy way. You could go all out with something along the lines of what I said, and have a rocking costume/outfit while not being swaddled in pink. If anything, I'm certain that white feathers would easier to quickly acquire than pink ones.

Be white and fluffy and be a baby flamingo, because gally99 is wise.

We have baby flamingos at our zoo right now and they're delightful. Who wouldn't hand a "MOST AWESOME FLAMINGO" trophy to these dudes? They eat gruel!

Also Archie McPhee if you reeeaaally don't want to be an AWESOME BABY FLAMINGO.
