Looking for community blogs

What are your favorite community blogs?

I am looking for sites like Yahoo's Shine and Open Salon that have a mix of amateur and more seasoned bloggers. Bonus points for sites that use human editors to place exciting content on the front page. I've been enjoying these types of blogs recently and am not picky about subject matter. Thanks for sharing your recommendations.

This may be obvious, but seeing as how you've never posted there before I just wanted to make sure you know that Metafilter is a community blog which may contain some of what you're looking for.

Scienceblogs is a great collection of bloggers. (Note that at the moment the site is in the middle of a bit of worker-management strife between the bloggers and Seed Media Group over their decision to let Pepsi pay for a blog on the site, resulting in a number of bloggers leaving and a few on strike.)
