Music like Sleigh Bells and Crystal Castles?

MusicFilter: I really like Sleigh Bells and Crystal Castles. Recommend me some similar music.
Usually loud, sometimes frenetic, female vocals (optional), electronic.

You might try the new M.I.A. album, MAYA. One of the tracks was produced by the dude from Sleigh Bells, and it sure sounds like it. Also, the Sleigh Bells album kept reminding me of early Sleater-Kinney and/or Bikini Kill, though neither of those bands fit your "electronic" dictum. (They are, however, loud, frenetic, and feature female vocals.)

For something like the quieter Crystal Castles stuff, try Alias and Tarsier

Best answer: No female vocals, but Ratatat has very similar textures.

Glass Candy, though it's not as frenetic. Try "Etheric Device" and "Beatific."

Check out White Ring, specifically "Suffocation". I'm partial to the Los Campesinos remix: rcrdlbl.com/2010/07/05/premiere_white_ring_suffocation_los_campesinos_remix_

Check out Neon Indian and VEGA.
Oh, and last.fm is waaaay better than Pandora in terms of making meaningful links between artists.

Xiu Xiu feels a lot like Crystal Castles to me -- both bands feel like they are mere minutes away from entirely losing it, though Xiu Xiu is a bit less frenetic about it than CC. sort of as if Jamie Stewart is more resigned to his fate than Alice Glass.
early Blonde Redhead (up to and including In An Expression Of The Inexpressible) feel similar, but are more noise than electronic, and they were sounding a lot like Sonic Youth back then so they might be worth checking out too.
also Battles, though this might make sense only to me. their sound is more precise and controlled but it has a similarly relentless intensity.
(sorry for there being no links -- work is almost over, I must leave too soon.)

Crystal Castles owe a lot of their energy to Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. Not electronic, but otherwise exactly what you're looking for.

Best answer: Definitely The Knife, especially their album Deep Cuts. Some of Salem's stuff sounds a bit like the darker end of Crystal Castles, but pretty minimal. I highly recommend Pictureplane, and HEALTH's Disco and Disco II records. Those are more similar to Crystal Castles- as far as similar to Sleigh Bells the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Phantogram. Happy Hunting!
