White Plains to Manhattan

I'm taking a quick trip to NYC and the cheapest flights I can find are to White Plains.
How difficult will it be for me to get from the White Plains airport into the city (my hotel is on Park at 26th)?
Thanks!
Yeah Inspector.Gadget has it. Its been a long time but I'm pretty sure there's a bus stop right at or just outside the airport which will take you to the train station. A cab will probably be about $20.

Also, you can take the subway from Grand Central to Park & 28th St., and then it's only a two block walk to your hotel.
Of course, this would mean that you'd have to carry your bags up and down staircases (to get into and off the subway platform) so this may not be possible for you.
But if you do want to explore this option, you'd take the 6 line from Grand Central to 28th & Park.

There is a bus/shuttle from WPA to While Plains, drops you near the train station.
You can also take bus BxM 4C from Central Avenue to Manhattan.
White Plains to Central avenue, take bus 5, 13, 14, 20, 21 to Westchester community Center. Bus 20 and 21 share the bus stop with BxM 4C, for 5, 13 and 14, you will have to cross the road to Central Avenue.
Its very quick during non-rush hours, otherwise you better take the train.

Response by poster: Thanks to all!
This is very useful information.
I'll only have my carry-on bag, so no worries with luggage.

The train ride times greatly vary depending upon express versus local rides. I would expect the train to take 45 mins to 1 hour.

Response by poster: The decision to fly to White Plains turned out to be great -- and the cost of getting from White Plains to Manhattan was significantly cheaper than a cab from LaGuardia to Manhattan would have been (cab from White Plains Airport to train station was $20; train from White Plains to Grand Central was about $7).

There may also be a WPA <> train station shuttle but you should call the airport to find out.>
