My penis has become a little uncomfortable during sex. Read on for more details.

About six months ago my girlfriend and I noticed a very small hard lump on my penis, just below the glans (I was circumcised aged 10). It was beneath the skin but, to cut short a long story, the doctor said it was a prominent vein and that it would go away over time. The hard lump has gone away but the vein is still visible, and it's now a little sore, even to the extent of affecting my sexual performance.

Can anybody enlighten me as to what's going on, and what can be done?

You should probably talk to your doctor again. We are not medical professionals.

I had one of these (vein that had clotted strangely or something like a sebaceous cyst) for some years and my Doctor told me not to worry about it and that it was removable but the removal would be more trouble than it was worth. After it went there was a little bit of pain but that passed after about a month (though was still a bit uncomfortable after sex for a while after that).

So yeah, not a lot of help, sorry - your ___age will vary because you might be doing completely different things with it and your body is your body. I know with mine it was more a psychological detriment to my sexual performance than a physical one, and once I realised that I was fine.

Seems like you need some professional medical advice. Otherwise, you could wear two condoms. Or try some numbing cream.

Doctors are good at answering questions like this.

Don't wear two condoms at once if you are relying on them for birth control. The friction between them makes them more likely to break.

Do go back to the doctor and ask what can safely be done to alleviate the discomfort.

I would go back to your doctor. A condition like this in one of my partners ended up being a mild but persistent infection that was cured by antibiotics.
