iTunes U on devices?

Why won't iTunes U items show up on iPod/iPad?

ITunes on the Mac has the iTunes U category listed at left, and I have successfully downloaded a few items. But ITU does not show up on the iPod (160 gb Classic) or the iPad. Shouldn't it?

Best answer: When I have my iDevices plugged in, I see them listed in the left pane as well. Highlighting one of them, I'm given controls for various syncing preferences for that device separated by tabs. iTunes U has it's own tab and syncing is not automatically turned on for me. (I'm using iTunes 9.2 by the way.)

I had to turn this on to sync the latest downloads of WWDC videos that Apple published to iTunes U.

It seems not every category of material in the iTunes library is automatically synced with iPods/iPhones/iPads.

Ah, just dealt with this problem myself a week or two ago. It turns out that, for some strange reason, itunes u files all get put under one "playlist" in your music files when they're synced to your ipod.

Response by poster: mjb had it this time. Thanks. Now I have five hours of lectures transferred, and need to find an extra five hours to listen.
