What font was used for the Silver Age Fantastic Four cover?

Actually, looking for two fonts: the one used to spell out "Fantastic Four," and the one used for the "the world's greatest comic magazine!" line. If these are so old-timey and hand-lettered that there is no font match, what font would be my best bet for near-replication?

I would bet that the title font was hand-drawn by Jack Kirby, but you can find a reasonable facsimile here. For the other fonts, try looking through the fonts available at Blambot.

If you want substitutes, the kicker font ("THE WORLD'S GREATEST...") looks a lot like like Snyder Speed.

Post this question to the typophiles at typophile.

You'll get many good answers. The original is obviously hand rendered but there may be a typeface that emulates the letterforms.

I have a font named "Fantique Four" which is the best approximation I've seen so far. Google it, and you may find this and other sites to grab it.
