Hlpe with contacts migration outlook to google???

Would like to export my contacts from Outlook 2003 to Google apps Mail. Have tried saving CSV files and then importing, excel files then saving as CSV, but every time the email addresses are assigned to the wrong place and end up in the misc area in Google contacts... this despite looking at the xcel spreadsheet header and seeing it properly labeled. What am i doing wrong?

Not sure what the problem is, but what about exporting your Outlook contacts to Hotmail or Yahoo Mail and, then import those new webmail contacts into Google Apps Mail? You would be able to tell if the problem is with your CSV formatting method (if Yahoo Mail or Outlook Mail scrambles your info, then you need to recalibrate your method) or Google Apps Mail (whose contacts system is notoriously terrible).
