Immigration forums?

Which are the best online forums for immigration/visa issues?

I am looking for some good online forums that discuss immigration issues pertaining to the United States, specifically work visas and spouse visas etc.

Addendum:Can someone suggest an immigration attorney in the Chicago area?

Thanks!

You could try the forums on //www.workpermit.com/, they certainly cover US issues. They appear to me to give reasonable advice for the UK; I can't speak to the quality of the US advice.

I believe Visa Journey is one of the better ones.

I've gotten good feedback from The lonely planet forums and couchsurfing communities.

Immigration Portal.

I used this site when I was pursuing the DV (decided against, in the end) but it covers all types of visas. That site should also give you ideas for finding a visa lawyer.

Can totally recommend the attorneys Carpenter & Capt in Chicago: www.carpenterandcapt.com

I had what should have been a straightforward marriage-based case, that got screwed up due to the incompetence of the Chicago Post Office (Green Card got lost in the mail) and the the even more monumental incompetence of the INS.

Carpenter and Capt went above and beyond to get everything resolved - which took months, and culminated in a threat to sue the Department of Homeland Security. We would've done it, too - but all of a sudden the INS got strangely cooperative. And they did everything for the flat fee we agreed up front.

I'm sure you won't have anything like the nightmare experience I did, but just in case you do have any problems, it is *so* worth it to know you've got experts on your side. They work hard, they are kind and understanding, and they know how to work the INS.

The INS can be Kafkaesque at times and if nothing else it's nice to have someone available who's seen it all before.
