What is the worst pop-up (or other Internet) advertisement you have ever seen?

My candidate for worst ad: on This Old House. A corner of the webpage peeled back (very clever graphic) to reveal rotten wood, and a monstrous insect, several times life size and virtually 3-D, crawled across the screen. I did not hallucinate this. It was a termite extermination ad, of course.

I would like to know that I'm not the only person to have seen this, as I have been unable to find it again, so perhaps it was pulled when entomophobes protested. If I was genuinely phobic of insects, I would be severely rattled by that ad.

But choose your criteria: user-hostility (you can't make it go away), annoying animation, incompetent design, tastelessness of the product or service, overall ugliness (I'd like to stick with safe-for-work, since discussing porn pop-ups would be like shooting fish in a barrel).

Stealthy time-delayed pop-unders with full sound cracked to max. AGH. You're browsing and then out of nowhere you start hearing voices.

The one where a mom has the secret for losing 2lb. belly fat fast!
And the disgusting teeth-whitening one, ew.
The e-cigarette one.
All as sketchy as possible. I know clicking on them would give me a virus.

The loud and annoying and always a surprise, "CONGRATULATIONS! You've won!"

Well, gee, lemme get my credit card. I won something again from these suckers!

"OBAMA SAYS: MOMS SHOULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL" with random, bizarre images are really annoying.

AdultFriendFinder ads that display "FIND A NEW FUCK BUDDY IN YOUR AREA" in giant red text across your screen.

Years ago, I saw a popup ad titled DON'T SWEAT THE MIDGET. Looks like I wasn't imagining it.

On ESPN, "Raiders fans have an IQ of 98." Which we know isn't true because, after all, they're Raiders fans.

The ad for insurance with a random dishevelled bearded dude who looks a bit like a young Charlie Manson.

Bugger me. I type insurance advert charles manson in Google and get a full story on it, 3rd result.
